I had something else in mind for this note. Then I got to spend some time today with my grandson George, and things changed a bit…
Your Kin-dom come.
Your will be done.
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
Sound familiar? A couple of minor changes to make the language more inclusive, and to re-imagine the old idea of “kingdom.” But you probably recognize it.
In my work, I often find myself saying to people, “We don’t have to die to live in the Kin-dom of Heaven. It’s for right now, on Earth as it is in Heaven…”
Now, finally, I know what I meant.
Right now, this realization doesn’t bear much relationship to tomorrow’s message. But, bytomorrow, it will.
We’d love to have you be one of us; we worship at 10 AM.
PS I’m imagining I’ll get a much larger response to this note than to my usual Saturday ramblings. My awesome daughter-in-law offered me this instruction: all it takes is a picture of a baby… :-)
