Regular Bible Study

We take the Bible seriously, as a God-inspired conversation between humankind and all that is sacred. AS Abraham Joshua Heschel, a great 20th century Jewish scholar said, "The Bible is in conversation with itself." We listen in, and offer our own thoughts and wonderment...

We gather every other week, following Sunday worship, to talk about what we've read, to meditate on it, and to grow in wisdom and discernment. Our time together in study and conversation isn't about simple, pat answers to hard questions. It's about asking, wondering, doubting, puzzling, and discovering together.

We welcome anyone who would like to join. We generally work with the New Revised Standard Version of the Holy Bible; if you don't have one, bring what you have. There are stuidy notes in some printings; you'll find them helpful, but we can share what we have... If you like what you find in these holy conversations, you might want to purchase an NRSV Bible with notes. We can help locate them and buy them at a good price.

Check with Alan Parker for updates on our schedule.(alanparkerdanville@myfairpoint.net; or 802-684-1030). We'd love to welcome you.

If this time isn't convenient for you, we're glad to explore new groups that can meet at other times.
